Sarah Watkinson is a fine artist based in Surrey, UK.

Her work captures the quiet beauty of the world around us. Inspired by nature, colour and timeless interiors, she creates vintage-inspired florals and atmospheric landscapes that celebrate simple unnoticed moments found along the way. Through her paintings, Sarah aims to bring warmth, softness and a sense of calm into people’s homes.

Sarah has spent over 25 years working in the fashion industry. She has enjoyed being surrounded by creativity and being part of fashion shoots and productions, but always felt there was a creative side of her own that she wasn’t fully using.

Travelling was a big part of her work, and the places, colours and experiences she discovered around the world continue to inspire her paintings today. Nostalgia plays a big part too, often influencing the mood and feeling behind her work.

Sarah feels inspired to paint every day and finds the process exciting, relaxing and rewarding all at the same time. Painting has given her the creative outlet she had always been looking for.

She mainly works in oils, her favourite medium, but also enjoys exploring acrylics, pastels and charcoal when a piece calls for it. She has a particular love of vintage frames and enjoys finding and repurposing them to give her paintings a sense of history and character.

Sarah now lives in Guildford, Surrey, where she paints from her studio.
